I'm always on the look out for another garage/shop to rent... but until the right one comes along Kinetic will keep on moving
forward with the (much smaller)space we have.
Jake and I still talk and we are still close friends... who knows maybe someday he'll come back...
For now I do most everything myself. My brother James helps out once in a while but he's a busy guy so I'm mostly on my own, which is fine.
Kinetic Autosports was started in Feb 2005 working out of my parents garage. In the begining it was started by John Ryan (that's me) and my friend Jake Ebel. We started this company because we both have a great love for cars... cars of all types... from S2000's to old beat up tried CRX's, both can bring just as much enjoyment, in terms of creating something. We started off doing local car audio/video installs and auto detailing.
I am a certified auto detailer with many years experience under my belt, as well as a car audio installer customizer... I've lost track how many years of done that... since I was much younger... we'll leave it at that.
A little about us...
Jake was very good at engine work and tuning. Jake is a certified engine tuner and can handle himself around a dyno pretty well.
Together we made a great team. As time passed we we soon outgrew the garage at my parents house... We leased a 5000 sq/ft shop in Woonsocket, RI and moved the business down that way. The building space we leased was much bigger thatn what we really needed but the price was right because the building needed work to make it look like nice, but that didn't bother us. As it turns out the owner of the building never lived up to what he promised he was going to do... ie: fix the leaking roof(even though he owned a roofing company), repair the electrical system, and install a working heating system. So we had to move ourselves back out of that location in August 2006... which was to bad because it was a great place. Around that same time Jake had to leave the business due to a few things that came up in his life. He was a great lose to the business, but I was not about to let Kinetic die off.
So today the business has been moved back to a small personal garage and is still going strong.

As for myself... I'm 31 years old. Besides this business, I'm also a telecommunications cabling infrastructure engineer (I design computer cabling networks).
I have a great loving wife Wendy and a beautiful daughter Hannah. We travel as much as we can afford to. We rock climb, camp and hike as a family... we're big outdoors people, but I also ice climb and I'm training to be an Alpine Mountianeer, as I have hopes to being the Seven Summit Project in a few years.
